Je suis interdit de travail en Australie! Ayant fini mes cours 5 semaines plus tôt je ne suis plus considéré étudiant et de ce fait il m’est impossible d’étendre mon VISA étudiant avec une permission de travail.
J’ai d’abord tenté d’obtenir l’extension en ligne mais cela était impossible.
Puis je suis allé au centre d’immigration pour leur demander les démarches à suivre: ils me répondent que je n’ai plus rien à faire en Australie car je ne suis plus étudiant et que je devrai rentrer en France pour ces 5 semaines. Si j’avais étendu une semaine avant, i.e. lorsque j’étais étudiant, j’aurai eu le droit de travailler à temps complet, mais non dans cette situation.
En fin de compte je suis allé chercher des informations auprès d’un conseiller de mon centre de langue qui m’a conseillé de demander à ma fac de commencer ma date de rentrée plus tôt.
Les lois australiennes sont vraiment stupides!

I am forbidden to work in Australia! Havinf finished my english courses 5 weeks earlier I am not considered as a student and therefore it is impossible to me to extend my student VISA for a permission to work.
Firstly I tried to obtain that extension on line, but unsuccessfully.
After that I went to immigration office centre to ask them what I have to do: they replied me that I have nothing to do in Australia anymore because I am not student anymore and that I have to come back to France for these 5 weeks. If I had extended my VISA one week before, i.e. when I was student, I would be able to work full time, but not in this case.
Finally, I quested informations with the advisor of the language centre who advise me to ask my university (IPO – International Program Office) to change the beginning date of my courses for an earlier date.
Australian laws are really stupid!
